Tarah is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the Clinical Coordinator at Greendale Physical Therapy, LLC in Shrewsbury.
Early in her career, Tarah worked as a personal trainer in the greater Boston area under the nationally recognized certification, American Council of Exercise. As a trainer, Tarah developed customized fitness programs for weight loss and trained athletes seeking increased endurance and core strength. Tarah describes her personal training years as an eye-opening experience. She loved coming to work each day and motivating her clients to achieve their fitness goals. Passionate about long-term health care and wellbeing, Tarah went on to receive her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University in 2009. She worked in a sub- acute rehab facility in Westborough, Massachusetts where she treated patients with cirrhosis, and cardiomyopathy. She later completed advanced coursework in cervical and lumbar spine through the McKenzie Institute.
At Greendale Physical Therapy, LLC, Tarah specializes in knee, foot and spine pathologies. She is the resident expert in lower quadrant assessments and treats patients with patella-femoral syndrome and plantar fascitis– common injuries among athletes. In addition, as the Clinical Coordinator, Tarah oversees the work of student physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and high school students. She has recently begun aquatic therapy for post-operative patients and children with neurological conditions, including Muscular Dystrophy and Cerebral Palsy.
When not treating her patients, Tarah enjoys reading, jogging and practicing Bikram yoga. She is an avid runner, having completed four half marathons and the Boston marathon in 2011. She also believes, whole-heartedly, in the healing powers of dark chocolate.
