Rachel graduated from MCPHS University, right in Downtown Worcester, with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Prior to that she graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor’s Degree in health sciences.
Her interest in physical therapy began many years ago with a general fascination of human anatomy and the body’s ability to heal itself. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree she spent time working as a personal trainer and as a physical therapy aide, gaining more knowledge about exercise and the of the profession of physical therapy. This time helped to solidify her dreams and passion of becoming a physical therapist.
As a student Rachel had a clinical affiliation at Greendale’s Shrewsbury location where she built a solid foundation of clinical skills. Since then She has gained additional experience working in outpatient orthopedic settings as well as in the acute care hospital. She loves the challenge of creating new exercise programs individualized to each patient and engages a variety of manual techniques for patients with various conditions.
Rachel participated in synchronized skating and has competed nationally and internationally. Her team placed 3rd at the World Championships in 2011 in Helsinki, Finland. While she no longer skates, she continues to stay involved with her team by working with them on their off-ice fitness programs, which focus on overall strength and conditioning as well as injury prevention.
